Production of high-transparent MgO films by radio-frequency sputtering method

Magnesium oxide (MgO) thin films were deposited on silicon and glass substrates by the radio frequency (RF) sputtering method. The MgO annealed at 400 ⁰C for 4h. effect of working pressure structure optical properties was investigated. Structural characterization determined using X-ray diffraction (XRD) XRD results showed presence dominant peaks corresponding to (200) (220) lattice planes MgO. However, (111), (311) (222) also appeared in low pressure. It that average crystal size decreased as reduced, while deposition rate increased. SEM analysis microstructure nano-spherical film transformed into a coarse-grained nano-pyramidal shape after annealing. investigated UV-Vis spectroscopy. Accordingly, it absorption threshold around 310 nm wavelength band gap varied between 4.07 4.14 eV. As result, with high transmittance reaching an 95% visible region obtained.
